They Promise, We Demand
CHANDIGARH: Next time when applying for a residential plot offered by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), expect an early possession, if successful. That too with a boundary wall.
Courtesy reframing of guidelines and re-structuring of process, commercial and institutional plots by HUDA. The HUDA has decided to advertise plots only after demarcation of land where plots have been carved out.
A spurt in the increase of litigations related to delayed possession of plots after the draw of lots is believed to be reason that forced HUDA authorities to take concrete step. The HUDA authorities expect a decline of at least 40% of litigation by implementing this move.
A communication concerning this has already been made by HUDA chief administrator T C Gupta to officials and department involved in the flotation of new sectors and housing schemes.
Earlier, HUDA used to carry out the demarcation exercise only couple of days ahead of draw of lots. This would result into decrease in the number of plots as compared to number advertised.
Litigations related to flotation of Sector 2 and 6 of Mansa Devi Complex and Sector 32 and Sector 25 and 26 of Panchkula are some sore points in HUDA record. Of the total 544 plots offered in Mansa Devi Complex, HUDA could put 375 plots for draw as rest were under litigation.
‘‘We are here to serve the allotees and why he or she should be put on receiving end for the want of restructuring of process. This will certainly bring down the number of litigations related to possession or delayed possession,’’ Gupta said.
